Did you know that today is the United Nations International Day of Peace? We all have had our fill of bad news around the world. Today, and every day, we can consciously pause, choose to filter out the BAD news, and pay attention only to the GOOD news.

The universe wants us to pay attention to what we focus on. Do you allow the constant bombardment of negative news and images to dominate your consciousness? Or do you intentionally seek out the good with humility and a grateful heart? With intention, you can see the good things you didn't notice before.

It's time for each of us to set our Self free of limiting beliefs and habits.

Become more conscious of life choices. Deep down you actually DO know what do to even if you don’t much want to do it. See how you got where you are today. See where you want to go next. You really do have a choice about how to proceed.

You can never overestimate the power of daily personal development time. Your education never stops. As part of your daily routine, spend at least an hour a day reading or listening to powerful messages from experienced leaders. Absorb their knowledge and wisdom like a sponge. Do this daily and watch the way you think change. When your thinking changes, it follows that your results will change too. Then apply what you learn and take ACTION.

Get Back To Basics

Sometimes you have to call a time-out, breathe, and get back to basics. The past 3 months have just plain worn me out. My home is on the market (not because I WANT to sell), I work part-time at the university, and I'm sitting on pins and needles waiting to hear about a loan modification from my lender.

My network marketing business has suffered because I have not been focused. Has that ever happened to you? You might have demands on your time that derail your home business routine. Whenever that happens, I buckle down and get back to basics.

First, I remind myself why I chose network marketing in the first place. My company just celebrated its third anniversary at national convention last week. Holy cow, it just keeps getting better and better! Network marketing offers a lifestyle that I could not achieve in 30 years working 9-to-5. Remember why you started?

Second, I get back to basics and connect with people directly. You may get a call from me this month. I love posting on my blog but it's not the same as talking with people on the phone. Really, connecting with people is the fun part!

There's no point in waiting on the sidelines for a miracle. You have to light the fire from within... and choose to commit. Get back to basics: cultivate a positive attitude, identify your niche, provide solutions, build relationships, and connect with others.

The Summer Olympics in London, England began this Friday with a spectacular opening ceremony. The athletes are competing now as millions watch on television around the globe. How committed do you think the athletes had to be to compete in this year's games? Can you imagine the level of commitment required to prepare four years for this moment in time?

Cubicle jobsThis post is for people in "cubicle jobs" who feel like they're serving time. I know because I've been there. When I took my first cubicle job in the 1970s I had my whole life in front of me. It was a pretty good job and paid the rent on my first apartment. I was so happy to move away from home and be a grownup!

Never gave much thought to finding another way to earn money. By the year 2007 I had a big office with a gorgeous view. But that didn't matter. That gentle whisper had grown into a full blow scream: "Escape the life-sucking cubicle and live! There HAS to be a better way!" Ever feel like that?

I mean really, do you want to spend the next 30+ years working in a cubicle 40-60 hours a week? Almost like being incarcerated except you get to sit in traffic every day during your morning commute. Okay so maybe that's a slight exaggeration...

Family timeHave you noticed the kids are growing up way too fast and you're missing it all because you're sitting in a cubicle? Well at least you have pictures of your family on your desk. Wish you could spend more time at the beach? Or the golf course? Do you dream of moving your family to a better zip code? Have you always wanted to travel to a special place abroad?
