If you’re terrified about starting a business, you are not alone. It’s scary thinking about the investment of time and money required in order to turn a profit. Starting your own business is a commitment you should take seriously. There are so many offers and opportunities for home based businesses that you can easily get lost. You’re looking for solutions to give you more time and freedom, and to fulfill your soul’s purpose. With the right company that’s aligned with your values and which provides stellar training and support, you can make your dream a reality.
Overcome Your Fear By Taking Action
You already know you want more income to accomplish what you want in life. But where do you start? How do you choose from among the many home business options?
First, overcome your fear. In today’s economy, many are so paralyzed by fear that they become victims of current circumstances. Don’t be that person. Look for opportunities instead. Take control of your fear and take responsibility for your future. Network marketing is a great way to start a part-time business with a low startup cost. For more income streams you can add affiliate marketing and create your own products for sale.
In my first full-time job, I worked 4 years as an office assistant at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Baltimore. Then I worked for 16 years as a legal secretary & office manager, and 10 years as an administrative assistant at the University of Nevada Las Vegas.
But even after 30+ years as an employee, I never quite achieved the lifestyle I wanted. So in 2010 I took full responsibility for my life and decided to do something about it. I started my own network marketing business.
Second, do some research. When choosing a network marketing home business there are five important areas to consider (and you must have all five)*
- Excellent company management – leaders with experience and integrity
- Timing in the company and timing in the industry
- Remarkable products everyone wants and will buy WITHOUT the business opportunity
- Compensation plan that pays the part-time person
- An organized SYSTEM for training new people and building your business
Third, find the right team and sponsor. In the home-based business industry there is an overflowing abundance of opportunities. I know what it’s like to sift through too many choices. For me it came down to “who do I want to work with for the next 5-10 years?”
I wanted to work with someone with integrity, who is both personable and professional. Someone I trust and respect, who is genuinely interested in my success. I found such a leader and role model. Now I am following in his footsteps. And as an added bonus, I’m on the most dynamic team in my company!
How Much Time Will It Take?
The most important factor determining your success or failure is your MINDSET. You should plan to work your business consistently for at least 18 months. Network marketing is not a get-rich-quick business. But it is entirely possible to work hard for 18-24 months and earn $10,000+ per month in this industry. It all depends on YOU.
You decide how much time you will devote to making contacts and enrolling new customers and executives. You must commit to learn about your industry, your company’s products, and about owning a business. Like any other profession, you must invest in your education, personal development and business skills in order to succeed.
Maybe you are at a place in your life when you know it’s time to take a serious look at your options. You don’t want to wait until it’s time to retire only to find you don’t have the income to enjoy the fruits of DECADES of hard work.
Remember, you deserve to live abundantly. Success is your birthright. Because of the choice I made this year to start a business, I can offer the help and tools you’ll need to get your own business started — while retaining your current job.
The most valuable resource we have is time. It’s the only thing you can’t get more of. So where do you see yourself in 5 years?
